RIPPLES IN THE WATER- Vibraphone Solo This piece opens with a flowing introductory section, emphasizing arpeggiated figures (mallet permutations ), then gives way to a very tuneful ballad. This work is full of split, syncopated rhythms divided between the two instruments. These three short pieces can be played individually, or as a set. Unmistakably Sweet Sammut. These pieces have all the attributes of crowd pleasers: catchy rhythms, memorable memories, a bit of swing and even some jazzy harmonies. One or more of these Rotations makes for a perfect end of an advanced recital.
